ANNUAL REPORT

UDSs and ships -If you haven’t submitted your annual unit report to your LODO/FDO, you’re late!!! Please submit these reports ASAP . For all units that submitted reports and pictures, THANK YOU!!! Your words and images go a long way to making the NOAA Diving Program Annual Report happen. End of Article

TRI TEST KITS

No, its not that time already. But it’s close! TRI air compressor test kits will be mailed to all ships/units the third week in January. Testing needs to be done and the kits returned immediately after receipt in order to avoid late charge. If the late January timing will not work for your unit, please contact Laurie Barber to reschedule. End of Article

NEW NDP WEBSITE

No more hype. No more fluff. It’s really here. The extensively reworked and newly revised NDP website is in place at http://www.ndc.noaa.gov. The format, content, and forms have all been updated. A link to the online dive log has also been added. There is a lot of useful information on this site for NOAA divers and dive supervisors, as well as the general public. Please forward any comments or suggestions about the new site to LT Bill Cobb (so I can forward them to the appropriate web guru). End of Article

OFFICER DIVE PAY

NOAA Corps Officers are paid dive pay the month following the diving activity if a dive log has been submitted and the diver has current dive orders on file with payroll and the Diving Center. Commissioned officer dive pay (codpay) is submitted to payroll the last workday before the 15th day of the month for the previous month’s diving activity. If a dive log is not received by the Diving Center before the 15th of the month for the previous month’s activity then dive pay will not be paid for that month. Late logs submitted by fax or mail will be added to subsequent codpay reports and back dive pay will be received. Online logs submitted after the 15th of the month for the previous month’s activity will currently “fall through the cracks.” If you submit a late online dive log then you also need to send an e-mail to Sondra Huber (sondra.huber@noaa.gov) explaining the situation. She will add your name to the next codpay report for the month that was missed. This bug will eventually be worked out of the current codpay reporting system but for now this is what is required. If, for any reason, you have not been paid dive pay and you are eligible to receive it (mistakes happen at NDC as well as payroll, as if you didn’t know...), please contact Sondra Huber with the pertinent details and she’ll get you paid as appropriate.
